The SMUS 1st XV open their season of play against cross town rival Oak Bay in the annual “Rees Boot” match. In front of approximately 1000 boisterous fans at UVic’s Wallace Field, SMUS re-captures the coveted boot and breaks a three-year losing streak.

As director David Gauthier notes, this is the first year in many that the Senior School has done a comedy and Gilbert and Sullivan’s operetta Pirates of Penzance proves to be an excellent choice. The cast performances sparkle with wit and merriment.
