ITINERARY

14.35 hrs.  Arrive Ezeiza International Airport; clear Immigration and passport control, collect     luggage and pass through Customs. Proceed to the arrivals area where we will be met by tour escort who will be with us during the whole tour. Transfer and check into the centrally located HOTEL REPUBLICA for a one night stay on a B&B basis.  Once we have settled into the rooms, we will enjoy some free time to relax and explore your immediate surroundings or go for a team jog to get the travel out of our legs.

20.30 hrs: dinner at Soberbia 22, one of the finest steakhouses (known as  “parrillas”) in the trendy Palermo district.

09.00 hrs.  Morning sightseeing tour of Buenos Aires. Known as the “Paris of South America”, the city’s European influences are on display in many facets of daily life. Stroll the charming quarters of San Telmo, birthplace of the Tango; the working-class barrio of La Boca, and Recoleta Cemetery, the final resting place of Eva Perón. Return to the hotel for lunch.

15.00 hrs. Transfer to Buenos Aires Cricket & Rugby Club for a training session with Les Cusworth  (ex National Director of Coaching at the UAR).            

18.00 hrs.  Continue onto Colegio San Marcos (San Isidro) we will be hosted for two nights.

08.00 hrs.  Gather in the morning at the school.

09.00 hrs.  Transfer to the School sports grounds in Pilar. Arrive in good time to change and warm up for the first set of matches:

11.00 hrs.  SMUS M-16 vs. COLEGIO SAN MARCOS M-16

12.30 hrs.  SMUS M-18 vs. COLEGIO SAN MARCOS M-18

14.00 hrs.  After match function and exchange of gifts.

08.00 hrs.  Bid farewell to your hosts, board our coach and depart for Rosario (320 Km – 4 hrs). On arrival in Rosario, we will check into the PLAZA REAL SUITES HOTEL for a one night stay on a B&B basis. After we have settled into the rooms, we will likely go for a recovery run.

10.00 hrs. Morning sightseeing. Stroll along Boulevard Oroño, visit the impressive monument dedicated to Argentina’s national flag and the historic port area.

 15.30 hrs.  Transfer to Club Duendes to meet our next hosts with whom we will stay for two nights. Afternoon training followed by dispersal with hosts.

07.30 hrs.  Morning walk through. Followed by sightseeing/shopping/team lunch.

15.00 hrs.  Return to the club in time to change and warm up for the second set of matches:

16.30 hrs.   SMUS M-16 vs. DUENDES RC M-16 (KO TBC)

18.00 hrs.  SMUS M-18 vs. DUENDES RC M-18 (KO TBC)

20.30 hrs.  After match function and exchange of gifts.

08.00 hrs. Bid farewell to hosts and depart on a full day farm tour to the Estancia Los Patricios in San Antonio de Areco (210 Km – 3 hs). Once at the Estancia, we will partake in a Fiesta Gaucha – a folkloric expose with song, dance, Gaucho’s skills, and traditional costume, topped off with an enormous “asado” (BBQ) luncheon inclusive of soft drinks.

17.00 hrs. Transfer to meet with new hosts at Areco Rugby Club who will look after the boys  for two nights.

14.00 hrs. Gather at club to prepare for match set 3:

15.00 hrs.  SMUS M-16 vs. ARECO RC  M-16

16.30 hrs.  SMUS M-18 vs. ARECO RC  M-18

18.00 hrs. After match function and exchange of gifts.   Return to host families.

 12.40 hrs.  Bid farewell to our hosts, board the coach and transfer to Aeroparque –Buenos Aires City Airport- (110 Km – 1 hr 30 min) to fly to Montevideo.

14.10 hrs. Arrive at Aeroparque in good time to check-in for Aerolíneas Argentinas flight AR 1210 to Montevideo (Uruguay).

16.40 hrs.  ETD flight AR 1210. Flight time: 45 min.

17.25 hrs. Arrive Carrasco Airport, clear Uruguay Immigration and Customs formalities. Once outside the terminal, meet board coach and transfer to Colegio Seminario where we will be billeted for two nights.

08.00 hrs. Gather at school and depart for a guided tour of Uruguay’s Capital City. Visit the “Old City” with its rich architecture as well as the main historical buildings and plazas. The tour ends at the famous Port Market, where we can enjoy lunch at one of its many restaurants serving delicious local meals.

14.30 hrs. Transfer to the school to enjoy a light training session before we meet our hosts and depart with them for the evening.

08.00 hrs. Gather at school.  Light walk through and then morning at leisure for sightseeing in or around Montevideo.

13.00 hrs.  Return to the school and prepare for the fourth set of matches:

14.30 hrs.   SMUS M-18 vs. COLEGIO SEMINARIO M-18 (KO TBC)

16.00 hrs. After match function and exchange of gifts. Say goodbye to our hosts and transfer to the HOTEL CALA DI VOLPE where we will be accommodated overnight on a B&B basis.

08.00 hrs.  After breakfast and checking out of the hotel, board the coach and transfer to Carrasco   Airport to check-in for the Aerolíneas Argentinas flight AR 1215 to Buenos Aires.

10.45 hrs.   ETD flight AR 1215. Flight time: 45 min. A short layover is required at Aeroparque before our connecting flight AR 1734 to Iguazú,

15.35 hrs.  ETD flight AR 1734. Flight time: 1 hr    45 min.

17.20 hrs.  Arrive Iguazú, transfer and check into the HOTEL CATARATAS for a two night stay on a   half-board basis. Evening free to rest and relax. Buffet dinner at the hotel.

 08.30 hrs.  Meet our local guide at the hotel for a full day tour of the Iguazú National Park which without any doubt will be remembered as one of the highlights of the tour. Walk along the upper and lower trails around the spectacular Iguazú Falls, admiring more than 270 different falls. Included is a 4X4 ride through the rain forest and a powerboat ride through the falls. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon.  Buffet dinner at the hotel.

08.30 hrs. Transfer to Iguazu Airport to check-in for your flight AR 1725 to Buenos Aires.

10.15 hrs. ETD flight AR 1725. Flight time: 1 hr 50 min.

12.05 hrs. Arrive Aeroparque –Buenos Aires City Airport- transfer to Saint George’s College in order to meet our final hosts.

09.00 hrs.  Gather at school to prepare for last set of matches.

11.00 hrs.  SMUS M-16 vs. SAINT GEORGE’S COLLEGE M-16

12.30 hrs. SMUS M-18 vs. SAINT GEORGE’S COLLEGE M-18

14.00 hrs. After match function and exchange of gifts. Bid farewell to our hosts before returning to the HOTEL REPUBLICA where we  will be accommodated overnight on a B&B basis.

21.00 hrs.  POSSIBLE: end of tour dinner at “El Club de la Milanesa”.

10.00 hrs. Check out of hotel and head into Buenos Aires for some last minute sightseeing and shopping.

17.05 hrs. Depart for Toronto

06.10 hrs. Arrive Toronto Pearson Airport, and connect with flights to Victoria

11.53 hrs.  Arrive Victoria International Airport, main terminal, collect luggage and disperse for home.
